New routines – think smart

In the 45 days I stayed at the temple I got a new routines like meditation, yoga, supplements, diet , walking a lot and low-stress lifestyle, which I really need to keep going.

It’s so easy to implement new habits and routines, while living in a protected world like the temple, where everything is based on having these healthy habits. Sticking to them outside in the real world is a challenge.

Practically  it’s challenging since I’ve got a steady place to live yet here in Sydney. Therefore every day is filled with a massive amount of new impressions, new people and using a lot of the time on the process of getting settled. Keeping up the new routines will be a lot easier when I get a steady place, where I’ve my stuff around me and easy to access. Until then I just have to do the best I can.

The easiest thing to do is the supplements and the food (here in Bondi there are healthy food stores all over the place). The yoga has become the greatest challenge since I need space and peaceful surroundings, but now I’ve a mat so on dry days I can go to the roof of the hostel or the beach to practice. The meditation has been a challenge, but this morning I went for a walk in the rain and put on my theta wave music – that worked wonders – just like using it in the evening just before bed time.

When I get my “own” space (probably a shared flat or a room) – my morning routine takes about 1 hour beside breakfast and personal stuff. Yes I’ll have to get up early in general, but that is not a problem for me.  I need access to a good kitchen, refrigerator, live close to organic stores, hot water washer, not waste too much time on transportation and be able to get early to bed (quiet place). I really hope to live in walking distance to the school maybe 15-20 minutes so I’ve some walking Incorporated in my day. Why do it the hard way if you can do it the smart way ;).

I don’t know about you guys but it’s possible, but it takes effort and smart thinking. Getting as much as possible incorperated in the daily routine so it also frees time to the fun stuff 🙂

I know I’ve to do this because the benefits make a huge difference in my life and I might actually get a life free of any symptoms from my dyspraxia. Again it’s about smart thinking and long term thinking in this case long term isn’t that long since I already experiences a huge difference from before I stayed at the temple. 🙂

Later on I can add more like trigger point and starting studying in the evening beside work but first I’ve to make the foundation for my new life work. It’s like building a house. If the foundation is solid and good the house will last and will be easy to maintain 🙂

 

Home is where the heart is

I’m back and I felt so at home already in the airport of Sydney.

I’d chosen to take a night flight because it was cheap but even though I’d three seats to my disposal I got very little sleep. Therefore I’ve used two days to try and get into sync again 😀 but I’m here and I’ll stay now for 5-6 months and this is so wonderful.

The first day I went for a walk to Bondi Beach to get some food and I was recognized by the store owner from Bitebox. That felt amazing to get waved at, get a good talk and get a box with meat and vegetables. Then I went to the neighbour shop my favorite and got a fresh made melon juice. After that I went right down to the beach and just sat there and ate.

Guys I’m home 😀 it’s funny how many people say that their place/house/four walls are their home. For me it’s where my heart is and Bondi is where my heart is and no matter where I’ll end up living Bondi is my home and I’m a Bondi girl 🙂

And to make it even more adventurous while I was eating all hell broke loose for the lifeguards and they had to save two teenagers in very bad shape and they did as usual an amazing job. Most of it I know from the news because I’ll never join the ring of death unless it’s somebody I know getting saved.

In these days I stay at a hostel close to the beach so when I go to the roof top I get an amazing view over the ocean.  One of these days when the weather is good I’ll go up there and do some whale watching.

I’m using my days on getting settled and getting ready for school which starts Monday at 9 am. Therefore I’ve been shopping a little – looking at places to stay – looking at job agencies – making my CV – you know all the boring stuff 😀

Tonight I’ll reward myself and get food from my favorite restaurant and the best thing is it’s big portions of quality food for cheap money.

 

 

 

Got my freaking certification today

Photo 19-04-16 19 24 39Got my certification today in first aid, so another step towards Australia is completed and no matter what it’s important to keep up to date. Beside that first aid really is different down here.

As normal my brain flat lined and I freaked out but somehow I managed to keep my head so cold that I got through it.

I’ve always been bad of to exams and job interviews. In the old days I had diarrhea before, was white in the face, had problems keeping my head clear and was close to fainting etc. Compared to that I’m much better of now but still my body just shut down after meaning that I went home and slept a while. I woke up because of the telly and made some food which I’ve eaten very little of because I’m exhausted.

Even though I’m so bad of with exams and job interview I still do it – You just have to take the bull by the horns and do it. I took the certification and I know that I’ll go much better in real life.

This is why I love Bondi

From the first minute or actually before I ever arrived I’ve had some weird connection to Bondi Beach and last year when I went their the first time I felt so at home and fell in love with the place. As I got to know the area I’ve expanded it to the area from Bronte and the whole costal walk to Bondi.

Today the weather was amazing so I got up early to take a SUP lesson with Dean and I made a photo rapportage to show why I love this place.

Already before the sun is up there is local people on the beach training, surfing and getting a morning bath. Some mornings there are photo shoots, preparations to parties, couples lying together and waking up etc. About 9-10 in the weekends or holidays the families and tourist arrives, and I just love watching the families because I see so much joy. Beside that every time I’m on the beach I see new things and I get a calmness and joy especially if I can get on the water.

The water is my meditation – I’m in the now and I get a time-out from life and I love it – Some days my dyspraxia in the legs are controllable and I stay on the board. Other days like today I had to have help to get to shore and I fell into the water 4 times – but in the end it’s not how many times I fall – it’s how many time I get up again that counts 😉

On and off days

Even on holiday you can have one of these days where you just want to sit down and laugh  😀 And yes I’m talking of experience – actually I’ve had two in a row.

Yesterday I got up 5:30 since I had my skydive and would be picked up about 30 minutes walk from here. It was raining and not just a nice rain shower, no it was pouring down and even with my rain coat and -trousers I was soaking wet arriving to the pick-up place because the water came in everywhere. Then the bus trip to Wollongong took an amazingly long time because there were several roadworks. But on the plus side yesterday I did my skydive and I’ll write about it later. Beside that a lady from the skydive crew dried my hoodie for me while I was in the air – what a sweetheart. After skydiving I met Fuzz at Bondi Beach and had a cosy time and then the rain came so I just used an uber cap to come home.

Today started ok because it had been raining all night and it stopped in time before I left for training and it stayed that way until I arrived on Bondi Beach, then we had a little rain that stopped when my session started (thank you 🙂 ) – talk about being lucky). On the costal walk home I had the rain in my back so my power walking I reached home without getting soaked 🙂
Today I’d planned to wash my clothes while cutting and fixing my hair  but my landlord was washing her stuff – f*ck ! what to do (I’m wearing my last pieces of clothing) – I went on the internet + asked my landlord and learned that there was a laundry shop pretty close to here and I got my stuff and left. It had apparently been closed so no such thing. I found a couple of places on the internet but the phone numbers wasn’t in use. I’d to go back to the bnb and returned to the bus stop but the local school had just finished and the streets was filled with children. It would probably have taken me 20-30 minutes to get a bus, therefore I chose to walked back.

Now  I’m back in the bnb and fortunately the washing machine is free and the sun is up with a kind breeze so my clothes will be dry in a couple of hours LOL (hopefully 😀 )

All these small challenges when you’re living in a new area while traveling 😉

A lot on my plate

Dearest all of you.

I’ll be quiet the next days but I’m carrying on with my Pro Life Actions. My life is one big chaos right now in the good way. Since my commune closes and I’ve to be out the 13th of December I’m working hard on getting ready to move.

This weekend I’ve sold/given away a lot of my stuff. Soon I’ll only have what I’m travelling with.

In my few hours of spare time I’m working hard on getting my personal papers digitalised and getting the papers I need in the future translated and certified.

At last but not least I’m contacting Australian authorities and universities to make future plans after my travelling are done.

This is a lot of work but I’m so happy to do it because it’s my dream 🙂

Tickets all the way to Sydney booked

Got my holiday visa to Australia so now the flights and train rides are booked all the way to Sydney. So excited 🙂

  • I’m leaving Norway on the 29th of January to visit my step father and a good friend in Denmark.
  • February 9th I’m going to London and hopefully make some speeches and visit the 101 gang
  • February 16th I’m heading for Darwin where I’ll stay 2 weeks before I take The Ghan to go on amazing adventures.
  • I’ll get a couple of days in Adelaide where I’m going to see the Kangaroo Island as priority #1 before I’ll take the train with an amazing ride through the Blue Mountains to Sydney.
  • So the 9th of March I’ll be back in Sydney and I’m so looking forward to it. I hope to have 1-2 weeks of boot camp and paperwork in Sydney before leaving for New Zealand and if possible ride across USA in June on a ATV to honour my parents who both died of cancer. It’s my hope to make this a charity trip to raise money for cancer research. How I do it I don’t know but today I took a major step towards making my dream a reality.

The last week I’ve sold a lot of stuff because I’ll only pack the most important things to get stored in Denmark and on my trip I only need necessities 🙂
